While the whole point of going to SEMA Show this year was to interact with customers or potential customers for Eagle Cut, SEMA has a LOT of cars in there ’cause it’s the worlds largest gathering of automotive products. Someone sells a service or product that can be used to modify the looks or performance of a car, there’s a good chance that they, or their supplier, is there. As trade shows go, it’s one of the largest in the world – 2023’s attendance was put at 132,000 people – it’s huge. Every where you look in the hall I was in was Ferraris, Lamborginis, some McClarens, Porsches, etc.
When I was in my 20’s, that would have been exciting! But… as an adult I find them to be a little to conformist. Seriously, there’s not a huge amount that gets done to a Lambo externally – you potentially decrease the value of a $100k to $1m car with every change you make, so they all sort of look the same (though, I’ll admit I’ve wanted one of two possible ‘cheap’ Ferraris – a Mondail T, or a 348. One in fair condition is cheaper than most new cars, and both of them are rather special cars in my opinion.) But Hot Rod hall is… yeah, that’s where all the cool stuff was! (Also, I won’t say the pictures are completely Ferrari free – there’s a pretty good shot of multiple old-school racing style ones in there. 🙂 )
While SEMA Show is about the industry stuff, one hall is all cars – muscle cars, old cars, modified cars, electrified cars (an electric converted VW Microbus makes perfect hippy-ish sense!), and more. As you might have imagined, I was a bit excited to get a chance to go through it – and since I was a vendor there, I could get in before the crowd! So Jason and I got to go walk around it, and I took a load of pictures. And I’m gonna share them with ya’ 😉 (BTW: we left just moments before they were opening the hall to the public – with no one around, it it fun. But, when they opened those doors, it would have been a completely different, more frustrating experience seeing the cars.)
There are a couple cars from the other halls in here, too, like the ridiculously large survival vehicle, and some really cool truck that were parked outside. There was a section near Hot rod hall that had a bunch outside – and a lot of people hanging around out there. Not worth trying to fight my way through that sort of crowd to get a look at them 🙂
Of course, this song was through my head for a lot of the walk through there, so it play and use it as a soundtrack while you browse the pics 😉
And, sorry if you see duplicates: the server is having issues (the current hosting company is being a bit flaky) and a new one is being provisioned at a new hosting company (been planned for a while – not firing the old one completely, just reducing what services I’m running on there). So, uploading them it would die, and then have to refresh the page. Bleh.
I loved as much as you will receive carried out right here.
