It lives…
I love it when one of my personal projects goes well :-) In this case, Heather’s 12″ powerbook had died a while after my 17″ powerbook had died. After much cursing, a little blood (which had to be cleaned off the logic board – blood is conductive even when dried due to the high mineral content), and some serious head scratching, she now has a 17″ FrankenMac – a couple of parts from my powerbook, a couple of parts from hers.
Working on a notebook sucks. But whoever was at Apple that designed the 17″ and 12″ powerbooks was a sadistic son of a bitch. Even tho those two machines are within a year of each other, there is very little similar about the layout. Taking apart a 17″ powerbook is hard work. A 12″ powerbook is a study in frustration. I needed the DVD driver out of the 12″ for the FrankenMac, and holy crap – you litterally have to remove everything including the logic board to take out the DVD drive!
Called Heather and told her the good news – she’s got a computer of her own again (I assume that Nick and Heather have no problems sharing one computer, but, two is always better than one 🙂
Now it’s time for some serious Battlegrounds in WoW. I’ve got my first piece of epic level 70 PvP gear, time to try for the second 🙂
I dunno… Clayton has no problems sharing computers… But on my side, getting my own laptop may have saved our marriage. 😉
Sharing is not a problem, but it will make it easier
Must run in the family – on our recent trip we only took G's laptop and left mine at home. I was lost without it!
I don't think we would share well…. We've always had at least two laptops around. Lol!
We share OK, most because Llonda does not getting on the home computer after working all day on a computer!!
Lanca and I both have 2 computers, and Erin has her own as well. Hmmm, maybe that's why we never seem t have money i the savings account…
define geek… a situation where computer in a household out number the humans.
Uh oh.
Chad and I fit that defination….
ummm.. can we use the fact we only have 1 cell phone between us (and that it doesn't even have a camera, music or internet) to counteract a few spare computers?
Of course even then, I doubt we could get anyone to believe we're not geeks…
Ya know what? Clayton could be a baker for a living, and people would still look at him and think “Geek” 🙂 I don't think the 1 cell phone offsets that 🙂
Touche mon pussy cat!
