Ok everyone – cross your fingers, and all that good stuff. All the information for the loan has been sent in. So, in theory, we should be hearing back from them pretty shortly – a title search has to be done first, of course, so that’s going to take a day or two to complete. Then it’s gotta be presented to the loan approval comittee, etc. Big loans are really a PITA, but in this case it’s worth it.
The CO (Carbon monoxide) alarm went off this morning. I woke up, looked around, and reset it. The house seems to have been still all night – the weather had changed a bit overnight, and it was cool enough that when I went to bed, the AC wasn’t running, and wasn’t running when I was jarred out of bed at 5:30 AM (you CANNOT sleep though one of those!)
I took it down from where it was, and set it on the shelf and got up (only had 45 minutes until the alarm went off anyway). 15 minutes later, it went off again. Uh-oh. That doesn’t sound like a false alarm in that case. Turned on the fans for the house, which meant it was drawin’ fresh air into the basement where we sleep. No problems after that, but, I did wake up Heabo to make sure she wasn’t exhibiting any CO posioning symptoms. (Woozyness or tiredness doesn’t count – too early in the morning. But headaches and nausea would have been an indicator.) Good.
But this is worrysome – the only thing running was the pilot light for the furnace and the pilot light for the instant water heater. Not exactly a whole lotta CO being produced there. Not sure what the problem could be here, but, I’m going to have to keep a close eye on things. Glad Heabo got that thing – I’ve always been concerned about the possiblity of something going wrong, since there’s not much ventalation in the basement when the AC or furnace isn’t running. (Just always figured if there would be a problem, it would end up being during the winter!)
In general, yet another busy day – but that’s not always a bad thing either 🙂
